With the popularity of bike share, it’s no wonder we’re starting to see accessories popping up to go along with the bikes. Now you can personalize your experience while you ride.
Po Campo, the popular chicago-based bicycle accessories company, has recently designed a Bike Share Bag to address the issue of carrying things in the sometimes-awkward front rack of Bixi bikes found in such programs as Citi Bike, Divvy, Bay Area Bike Share and Capital Bike Share. The sturdy black, waxed canvas bag sells for $85 and is set to make a summer 2014 debut. Add your name to the waiting list to be one of the first to have one!
The A.B. Pack is another bike-share bag concept and also addresses larger, bulkier loads and lets you carry the bag multiple ways. It folds down small to stow nicely in your purse or another bag. They currently have a Kickstarter campaign where you can get a canvas bag for $39 or a waterproof one for $49. Other options are available. But hurry; the campaign ends April 17th.
While you’re on Kickstarter, take a look at the KATCH, from Phoenix-based ARBR Studio. For $20, you can get a stylish magnetic clip to hold your skirt, dress or even your kilt in place while you bike. When you’re not using it, it acts as a cute bracelet and conversation piece! Get yours by April 21st when the campaign ends.
Something we’re surprised we’re not seeing more of is a portable cup holder, but Swedish company Bookman has come up with a spring loaded one that you can easily take on and off the handlebars (it may not fit on all bikes though). Be careful; at €29 (about $40), you don’t want to accidentally leave it on the bike!
